Mother Berlin has appointed Jan Paul Schwarz as New Business Director, bringing one of Germany's most established agency growth specialists into the team to build on Mother’s recent momentum.

Schwarz has spent more than a decade in the industry, with roles at Heimat and most recently as Director of New Business at TBWA\London, where he gained international experience across the UK market. More recently, he worked as an independent consultant, partnering with agencies on sustainable growth strategies; which is how he first engaged with Mother.

Mother has been appointed as the global creative agency of record for Lufthansa Group.

Mother has been appointed as the global creative agency of record for Lufthansa Group. The partnership will see Mother develop a unifying brand platform that connects the Group’s diverse airline portfolio, including Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways, Eurowings, Air Dolomiti, Edelweiss Air and Discover Airlines, as well as its loyalty and service brands such as Miles & More, Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Aviation Training, and Lufthansa Cargo.

Mother is tasked with developing a brand platform that makes Lufthansa Group more than a group of airlines. The collaboration aims to create a shared narrative that celebrates both the individuality of each airline and the collective strength of the Group.

Mother is appointed by Lufthansa Group

Mother London has appointed Omar El-Gammal and Miné Cakmak as its joint Heads of Strategy. They will be responsible for leading the agency's strategic output.

Omar is a long-standing strategy leader in the Mother business, having led strategy on the Uber account in the UK and other markets. He is promoted from his current role of Head of Cultural Insight where he has helped transform Mother’s work. He has been with Mother since May 2021, joining from JWT, where he led HSBC’s global strategy. Prior to JWT London he held roles at Leo Burnett, BBDO and JWT in Dubai. Omar is proudly Egyptian and now feels at home in London, while having lived and worked across Europe, USA, and the Middle East.

New to the team is Miné who has most recently been Head of Strategy Consulting at 72andSunny in Los Angeles, an agency she previously worked at as a Strategy Director before she moved into upstream strategic work at FNDR. Miné started her career at Morgan Stanley as a finance analyst; she transitioned into advertising with TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York, followed by a role at Johannes Leonardo. Originally from Turkey, Miné graduated from Columbia University before embarking on her career in the USA.

In their new roles, they will report to Chris Gallery, Mother’s Global Chief Strategy Officer, and Katie Elliott, the Mother London’s Managing Director. The Heads of Strategy roles will include the strategy disciplines within Mother. Omar will continue in his role as Strategy Lead across Uber, whilst Mine will be taking the lead on key client relationships and new business. Gosper is an international award-winning accounts leader (Cannes Lions, Clios, Creative Circle, One Show, etc.) At Grey London, she led Lucozade Sport 'Made to Move' — a multi-Cannes Lion award-winning campaign featuring heavyweight and Olympic champion Anthony Joshua.

Mother has announced a newly formed global partnership group, the next generation set to lead the Mother Family of agencies. Approaching 30 years in business, and proudly remaining independent, the new operating group is tasked with stewarding Mother towards the next 30 years. The group will work with and report into global CEO Michael Wall and Mother’s founder, Robert Saville.

 (Global Chief Strategy Officer), who have been with Mother for almost their entire careers, and have led the evolution and successes of the London office over the past eight years. They will retain their existing responsibilities alongside their new global roles.

Felix Richter becomes Global Chief Creative Officer, the first in Mother’s history, and will be working closely with the CCO’s across Mother’s offices in Berlin, Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai, and continuing oversight of London’s creative output.

Felix joined Mother as CCO of the London office in 2022, after 11 years at Droga5 in New York. He has brought great creative momentum to Mother, winning multiple back-to-back Agency of the Year titles, including International Agency of the year from Adweek in 2024. Mother London’s most recent work for Uber, KFC and IKEA, amongst others, has been heavily lauded.

Teri Miller becomes Global Chief Client Officer and is also promoted to US CEO, reflecting her role in transforming and growing Mother in New York and Los Angeles. Teri joined Mother in 2022 as US President from 72andSunny. In her three years, she has been pivotal in Mother’s growth. In the past year alone, there are 11 new clients, including Electronic Arts, General Motors, BlackRock and General Mills.

Katie Mackay-Sinclair and Chris Gallery have been at Mother for 17 and 16 years, respectively, originally joining as strategists. They made the transition into leadership as Heads of Strategy, before becoming Partners of the London office and are responsible for Mother’s longest-running, most effective and creatively renowned client relationships there. As part of the global team, Katie is elevated to Global Chief Brand Officer and Chris assumes the role of Global Chief Strategy Officer.

Jed joined the agency in 2022 and has been a key contributor to the growth of Mother’s business in Los Angeles. From being part of the team that defended the Sonic Drive-In business, to bringing in new clients from heavy hitting brands like General Motors and Electronic Arts—as well as a confidential new CPG client—winning 4 for 4 of his last pitches and doubling the agency’s client roster in the last twelve months.

The appointment comes at an exciting time for Mother LA as they onboard several new clients and hires in the last few months. They started the year with multiple projects in production around the world, their first work is about to break for several new brands, and some of the best creative yet is coming for both Postmates and Sonic. Next month they will move into their new, larger offices in Los Angeles’s West Adams neighborhood.

Jed joined Mother from TBWA\Media Arts Lab, where he created work for Apple. While there, his work was nominated for an Emmy, and he was named one of Adweek’s Top 100 Creatives in Advertising. Prior to that, he was a Creative Director at 72andSunny, where he created award winning work for Sonos, Call of Duty, Coors Light, ESPN’s Sportscenter@ Night, Carls’ Jr. and National Geographic. His work has been recognized by Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clios, the One Show, Andy’s and Webbys. He also co-wrote 

, a short film that premiered at the Tribeca Film festival.

Growing up in South Africa, Jed moved to Miami with his family at the age of 12. He won a radio contest to write a commercial for a piano company when he was 16, which made him realize that people actually got paid to make ads, and has been on that path ever since.

Mother has always backed creative talent in every discipline. Today, Mother London is announcing the promotions of Anna Murray and Emma Davenport; and Martin Rose to production and creative leadership roles.

Production has always been at the heart of Mother, and its importance and impact has never been greater. Mother has asked Anna Murray and Emma Davenport, the current Heads of Production, to step up into the new roles of Chief Production Officers. The duo have worked together for twelve years at Mother, in a partnership more similar to that of a creative team than the typical solo production leadership. They’ve been hands-on in realising much of the agency’s most celebrated work. Together, they will lead a team of over 60 to unify Mother’s making capabilities.

. He will now lead some of the agency’s flagship brands.

With their extensive experience, innovative perspectives, and proven track records, Kirsty and Kathryn will play pivotal roles in driving the studio’s creative vision forward.

The duo have been at the studio since early 2020, bringing almost 40 years of collective expertise in brand strategy and creative across industries and mediums. Under their leadership, Mother Design in London has flourished, with turnover up fivefold from a portfolio of work that builds brands.

Mother is creating two more Executive Creative Director roles. They will work with Chief Creative Officer, Felix Richter, to help manage the creative department and make Mother an ever-more attractive destination for creative minds.

Commenting on this, Felix Richter said: “Mother is a collective of highly skilled creative leaders; this move is to get more strong creative voices helping to make more decisions across Mother.”

Nick and Tom join Kirsty Minns as Executive Creative Directors at Mother in London. Kirsty has been at Mother since 2018. She was promoted in 2020 to be the creative leader for Mother Design. Her previous experience includes Google Creative Lab and The Future Laboratory.

New to Mother, Tom Bender is a copywriter by trade; he has been at Wieden+Kennedy London for the past six years. During that time, he worked on many highly effective and award-winning campaigns, ranging from Three’s #PhonesAreGood to Nike’s Londoner. His work has received premium creative awards - including a Cannes Lions Grand Prix, Titanium, and seven D&AD Yellow Pencils - and few creative portfolios will generate such a positive response from your average Gen Zer.
